Sigma Alpha Omega and Ovarian Cancer Awareness
All chapters of Sigma Alpha Omega support Ovarian Cancer Awareness as their national philanthropy. We fundraise and raise awareness of this cancer to help women fight this battle so they know that they are never alone and have an extra support line. We hold a fundraiser every fall semester during September, Ovarian Cancer Awareness month. With this money, we are able to help countless women pay for treatments and feel supported. To raise awareness, we also hike Stone Mountain to bring attention to the cause.
Strength through Unity
Everybody in Sigma Alpha Omega plays a role to help fight ovarian cancer. We are bonded together through Christ and use the love, gifts, and opportunities He gives us to help others. We show this unity and support to others by handprints; signifying that Christ will always be someone's guiding hand and that SAO will be a helping hand in aiding Ovarian Cancer Awareness. At our OCA fundraisers, we bring the letters with us and when you make a donation you can put your handprint on our letters, showing that YOU are a helping hand as well!
